According to GBN, Lidl is recalling four batches of its Alesto Raw Fruit & Nut Bars because they can potentially contain fragments of plastic that can cause choking. The Lidl snack bar recall is aimed at protecting consumer safety and involves multiple product variants.
Products Included
The recall includes the following products:
- Alesto Cocoa & Orange 5 Raw Fruit & Nut Bars (5x35g)
- Alesto Blueberry Muffin 5 Raw Fruit & Nut Bars (5x35g)
- Alesto Salted Caramel 5 Raw Fruit & Nut Bars (5x35g)
- Alesto Berry 5 Raw Fruit & Nut Bars (5x35g)
All the above products have batch codes L24316 and L24337 with best before dates of November 2025 and December 2025.

Consumer Safety Warning
The Food Standards Agency (FSA) says the potential presence of plastic pieces makes the products unsafe for consumption. The FSA has informed customers not to consume the concerned bars and return them to the store for a refund.
New Food Magazine indicates that Lidl will put up point-of-sale notices in shops to notify consumers of the recall and refund.
Company Statement
Lidl apologized for any disruption and thanked customers for their understanding in the recall. Customers can refer to Lidl Customer Care on [email protected] or telephone 0203 966 5566 for more details, according to Food Manufacture.

Wider Product Safety Issues
This is not the first occasion Lidl has encountered product safety concerns in recent months. The Sun reported that the chain recalled its Sol & Mar Chicharricos BBQ Pork Scratchings in April 2025 due to suspected salmonella contamination. In February 2025, Lidl also removed its Alpenfest Style Salted Mini Pretzels from stores following complaints of a burning sensation when eaten.
Public Advisory
Customers are advised to remain updated with product recalls by keeping track of FSA and Lidl’s official notices on a continuous basis. The Lidl snack bar recall underscores the importance of staying informed about food safety alerts.
