Easter weekend is just around the corner and the four day bank holiday means many UK supermarkets will have different opening hours. Supermarkets across the country are now advising customers that many of their larger stores will be closed on Easter 2025 Sunday. This is the result of government regulations requiring shops over 280 square metres to shut on that day.

Opening hours may also be different on Good Friday, Easter Saturday and Easter Monday as some stores may be operating with reduced staff to allow employees time off to enjoy the Easter 2025 holiday.

Easter Saturday (April 19): Normal hours.
Easter Sunday (April 20): Closed
Easter Monday (April 21): Large stores open with reduced hours, typically 8am–6pm; Express stores open as usual.
