Despite his casual appearance, Dikec is not new to the Olympic stage. He has been a member of Turkey’s Olympic squad since 2008, competing at every Summer Games since then. His experience and skill were on full display when he and partner Sevval Ilayda Tarhan won silver in the mixed team 10-meter air pistol event, marking Turkey’s first Olympic medal in shooting

Dikec Wins Silver Medal at Olympics:

Indeed, Yusuf Dikec did win an Olympic silver medal in Paris in 2024. He and his teammate Sevval Ilayda Tarhan won the mixed team 10-meter air pistol event. Given that this was Turkey’s first-ever Olympic shooting medal, the triumph was historic. The Serbian team of Damir Mikec and Zorana Arunovic won the gold medal, while Manu Bhaker and Sarabjot Singh of India took home the bronze.

What Yusuf Dikec Thinks About Viral Success:

Dikec appears to be enjoying his viral reputation, as he posts memes about himself on his Instagram account. Despite coming 13th in his solo event, he is already looking forward to the 2028 Olympics in Los Angeles and hopes to win a gold medal.

Turkish pistol shooter Yusuf Dikec became an overnight internet sensation for his supposedly indifferent attitude while he was shooting his way to a silver medal during Paris 2024. The most-shared pictures were of Dikec firing in a T-shirt with one hand in his pocket, apparently wearing a pair of standard glasses and an expressionless face.
